I am the Dawn Smith, 25 of Hamilton that was quoted in the article. I have lived in this area my whole life and the irony of this event occurring can be examined on multiple levels.

Reminds me of the time years ago when a local church had youth program one Saturday night to have a nearby bonfire and burn "offensive" books and rock records. I saw in the following Monday's paper that the fire caught the grass on fire and the fire department was called. Oh, how I wished it had spread and burned that church to the ground. As the German poet, Heinrich Heine, prophetically said 100 years before the Nazis, "Where they burn books, they will ultimately also burn people."
