Why are some of us Yanks trying so hard to vilify the Brits over the oil leak and related damages??? It wasn't done on purpose!!
Its time to clean up the mess, assess damages, build better oil collecting systems (that are less likely to be damaged) and let BP pay for it all. They have more than agreed to that so what's the big friggin' problem? It's time to move on!!!
Oh, and stop future oil rigs from being built under water!! I don't care who wants to install them, BP, Exxon, Mobil et al! Just say no!
I find this very offensive! This picture should be removed before it offends more people. I mean really, it's racist and a stereotype. I don't want to have to press action about this!

Hey People in todays economy WE ARE ALL IN THE SAME BOAT. Get over yourselves and thank God for everyday you wake up!
June 17 2010 at 5:54 PM Report abuse Permalink +4 rate up rate down ReplyWe little people appreciate the acknowledgment of BP. It's always been a popular comment of both parties, the phrase "looking out for the little guy". Only elitist snobs who have no clue about the little guys who make this country tick would try to make an issue out of an innocent comment. You snobs should at least acknowledge us as BP has. After all it's our money you are wasting with impunity!
June 17 2010 at 11:16 AM Report abuse Permalink +3 rate up rate down Replyyou know...I know what happened "IS" unexcusable (downright greedy)...and this cartoon says it like we feel....but come on as a half Brit, Im offended by this cartoon! Just everyone keep in mind its not like ALL Brits. In fact the average Brit is hard working and just like you and me. The wealthy ones...maybe another story.
June 17 2010 at 9:20 AM Report abuse Permalink +6 rate up rate down ReplyI think these were supposed to be BP executives. The cartoonist should have labeled them.
June 18 2010 at 8:16 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyThis is a racially offensive cartoon. Showing British people as uncaring plutocrats with waistcoats and monocles is as offensive a stereotype as portreying Israelis with big noses and bags of money.
Firstly BP is a multinational, the result of a merger between BP and Amoco in 1998 which produced the BP-Amoco group. The name was subsequently shortened to BP. It is headquartered in Houston.
Secondly, BP is 40% British owned and 39% US owned, and British pension funds are not the only shareholders complaining -

The artists and editors should be ashamed of themselves in publishing this.
I am Asian-American and found this cartoon offensive as well. "Little people" learn from cartoons, rightly and wrongly. (on the positive Spongebob SAVED 2 young lifes, one from choking and one from drowning). NOT ALL BRIT'S ARE SNOBS. Just like Americans are wrongly viewed as ARROGANT by people in other countries.
A lot of the stockholders are "Little people" as well (directly or indirectly as shareholders of pension funds, 401K plans, etc).
