Tuesday, June 22, will be a busy day for Obama & Co: From health insurance to Gen. Stanley McChrystal's transgressions in Rolling Stone magazine to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues, the president has a full plate. Here's what's on deck:
9:30 a.m. President Obama and Vice President Biden receive the daily briefing in the Oval Office
11:15 a.m. Obama attends a meeting with health insurers and state insurance commissioners in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, site of his much-discussed tete-a-tete with BP Chair Carl-Henric Svanberg (still unclear whether small people or yachting will come up in this conversation).
11:45 a.m. The president delivers remarks in the East Room regarding the ongoing effort to implement the new health reform law and the new benefits it affords to families across the country.
12:20 p.m. Obama and Biden have lunch in the Private Dining Room of the White House (Gazpacho? Definitely a possibility.)
12:30 p.m. Press briefing by Robert Gibbs. Expect questions about McChrystal, budget czar Peter Orszag's resignation, troop draw-down in Afghanistan, and, of course, BP.
1:35 p.m. The president meets with senior advisers in the Oval Office.
3:15 p.m. Obama meets with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates in the Oval Office. Gates will likely hear some words from the president regarding McChrystal's "contemptuous comments" about senior administration officials in an upcoming profile in Rolling Stone.
4 p.m. Obama holds Cabinet meeting.
6 p.m. Obama and Biden attend remarks at an LGBT Pride Month event; the president will then deliver remarks in the East Room.
