Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

Kagan all but said she does not give a flying fig about what the Constitution actually says - and to to idiot who said something about amendments - THOSE ARE AMENDMENTS the PROPER way to change the Constitution - not the vote of a single justice. She also does not understand or at the very least cannot articulate the Natural Rights theory on which our ENTIRE system is based. These alone disqualify her.

This cartoon might be funny were it not for the Clarence Thomas hearings where Coke cans and curly hairs became a topic of questioning. In light of that, this cartoon is just hypocritical.

I suppose we all have our opinion on this nominee. Mine is she has no problem being voted IN because she is a favorite of BHO and whatever he wants, he seems to Always get. I do not think she should be on our highest court because of her beliefs on abortion, especially partial birth abortion, her idea on amnesty for illegals, last, but by no means least, her idea that she Will make decisions on the way she thinks it should be, NOT by what the Constitution states. This administration has tried, and in some cases, changed our Constitution to their way of laws. The constitution should be left as written, not changed by someone thinking they Know Better.

So slavery, not allowing women to vote, 2 term limit for presidents and prohibition shouldn't have been repealed by future amendments?

It seems as if the real issue, of why she should be, or why she shouldn't be elected is not being addressed She is more than qualified. To THINK about something and use that as a benchmark to express how you feel and how you stand, is very intelligent. She has taken the time to study law, write about law and help to influence those who study law. Because her ideas don't match yours, is not reason to reject her. With change comes new ideas, better ways to THINK about things. What was relevant in the past, does not make it relevant today.
