It's a big day for the prez on Wednesday, July 28: He'll be talking small business assistance in New Jersey, then scooting over to the Big Apple for fundraisers at the Four Seasons and a "private residence." Here's what's on tap:
9:30 a.m. -- The president receives the daily briefing in the Oval Office.
10:00 a.m. -- Meets with senior advisers in the Oval Office.
10:40 a.m. -- Meets with Sen. John Kerry in the Oval Office.
11:45 a.m. -- Departs the White House en route to Andrews Air Force Base.
Noon -- Departs Andrews Air Force Base en route to Newark, N.J.
Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton will gaggle aboard Air Force One.
12:50 p.m.-- Arrives in Newark
1:30 p.m. -- Meets with small business owners at the Tastee Sub Shop in Edison, N.J., to discuss the economy and urge Congress to pass support for small businesses. Expect discussion of the small business legislation that the Senate is expected to vote on this week.
2:20 p.m. -- Delivers a statement to the press at the Tastee Sub Shop. (Presumably some sort of sub will be consumed here -- the smart bet is on chicken parm).
5:40 p.m. -- Attends a DNC finance event at the Four Seasons Hotel, New York City. Projected haul for this event and the one following: $3 million for DNC coffers.
7:20 p.m. -- Attends a DNC finance event at a private residence, New York City (word on the street is that this is the home of Vogue magazine editor-in-chief Anna "The Devil Wears Prada" Wintour. Here's to hoping Michelle has worked out some kind of Jason Wu menswear for the occasion).
8:50 p.m. -- Departs Newark en route Andrews Air Force Base.
In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around.
