If the name Basil Marceaux hasn't crossed your inbox, Twitter or Facebook, just wait.

Marceaux is a military veteran and one of the lesser-known Republican candidates for Tennessee governor. At least he was lesser-known until WSMV-TV in Nashville gave him equal time to lay out his platform on air.

That video has since gone viral, making Marceaux this week's Internet star.

Among the issues he's pushing is the eradication of all gun permits and registrations. "Everyone should carry guns," Marceaux declares. "If you kill someone though, you get murdered and you go to jail."

He wants to "plant grass or vegetation across the state on any vacant lot." Marceaux also promises to "remove all goldfinch flags in the state and fly the real flag with three stripes."
