Pvt. Bradley Manning is the Daniel Ellsberg of the Afghanistan/Iraq war scenario. Should criminal action be taken against him, I would not hesitate to make a public appeal for his defense. And here you have another example of improper war conduct!
July 31 2010 at 2:56 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIf Private Manning is found to be the culprit of this trasonous offense, and if he is found guilty of the charges and not executed, this entire country from President Obama down, owes an immediate pardon and apology to any of the surviving relatives of Private Slovik, who was executed at the age of 24 in WWll for desertion. For sure Private Slovik was a piece of work and after being cautioned and offered reprieve many times, he refused and rolled the dice. He lost, and was shocked to learn that he would be executed rather than just imprisoned. That said a sound reasoning can be made for the actions of Private Slovik. there is NO excuse for the actions of Private Manning, if true.

When I was in the military anything that mentionend sources and methods was Top Secret. Top Secret is more closely held. I don't see any document that mentions who a source is cannot be Top Secret.
