To Huckabee watchers, it appears that he is flying under the radar to build up his national following for a future campaign for the White House. But considering his many roles, is he too busy for a presidential run in 2012? Not according to longtime confidants, who think Huckabee will make another try despite his failed bid two years ago.For Barney and other Huckabee fans: There has always been an anti-intellectual streak in American politics that defeated men like Hubert Humphrey, Adlai Stevenson, and perhaps now, Mitt Romney. Some "ordinary folks" can only relate to other "ordinary folks" and while Huckabee (and Sarah Palin falls into this group) are not bad people, they are simply unqualified to meet the requirements of President of the United States. The leaders of the GOP know this, and the leaders of the Democratic Party will stick with Obama: Well educated, well informed, and not terrified of speaking to all media sources (including Fox News).
December 13 2010 at 1:12 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhile Mike Huckabee might be a good candidate but so was Massachusetts former Governor Mike Dukakis when the GOP killed his presidential aspirations with the Willie Horton pardon incriminations of poor judgement. Huckabee is in the same boat with not only the pardon of Maurice Clemmons who when on to kill someone but Wayne DuMond who did likewise. Unless you are a FLIP FLOPPER, you have no choice to keep your integrity intact but to vote for some other candidate. Doubly poor judgement is not presidential material.

Wow, a guy that can actually bring unity instead of profess it. That would be nice.

He is *NOT* someone I would think of as a good leader for this nation. Good, conviction driven, moral people are not suited for the oval office. Just check out Jimmy Carter's administration. Huckabee would be the GOP counterpart.
August 21 2010 at 8:59 PM Report abuse Permalink -32 rate up rate down ReplyIt is a sad commentary that America in the 21 century could actually elect someone whose mindset is in the 19th. I can't imagine his Republican Administration being good for the country's long term competitiveness. This man seem so anti science and anti technology.
August 21 2010 at 8:52 PM Report abuse Permalink -39 rate up rate down ReplyI've met and talked with the Governor on several occassions. I find him to be an honest and decent man with a genuine understanding of the problems that face everyday people. During the 2008 campaign, when most all of the other GOP candidates were boasting about how great the economy was doing, Mike was warning of the impending financial downturn. Why? Because he listens to and relates to everyday people, because he IS everyday people. I would PROUDLY throw my support Mike's way if he ran again.

August 21 2010 at 6:29 PM Report abuse Permalink +18 rate up rate down ReplyHucakbee is rather disposed to nanny-statism, unlike Ron Paul. Have you *really* thought this through?
August 21 2010 at 9:25 PM Report abuse Permalink -21 rate up rate down ReplyRon Paul is quite overrated. He doesn't understand a lot of key issues. He just throws in some "free market doctrine" that makes little sense.
August 21 2010 at 9:56 PM Report abuse Permalink +7 rate up rate down ReplyMike Huckabee is the BEST choice for the GOP to have a chance at the White House. A man with common sense, a strong leadership background, and the charisma/oratoral skills to match Obama. Let's hope the GOP establishment has learned a thing or two about picking a candidate and they get behind Huck....
August 21 2010 at 6:10 PM Report abuse Permalink +33 rate up rate down ReplyNot to busy. GO Huckabee! Time for truth and honesty in the White House.
