Click here to visit the new home of Politics Daily!Do you realize the reality in the Middle East? Catholics and Protestants cannot even build one church in many Middle Eastern countries! They cannot wear a Rosary around their neck, a crucifix, a cross, or carry a Bible! And forget about building a Jewish synagogue. To even mention it would invite death. And Moslems who convert to Christianity are in grave danger of being executed! In America, Moslems have built thousands of mosques and practice their religion anywhere and everywhere they like without persecution. But Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Zoroastrians and others are not allowed by Moslem governments and peoples in the Middle East to have any practice of their religion at all! All we ask is not to build a Moslem mosque two blocks from where Moslem terrorists murdered nearly 3,000 Americans in NYC, and that is asking too much???

How about we all just tell God we love him/her/all powerful being and dispense with all buildings and give that money to a poor relative?

'Explain the relationship between an attack on a federal building by an American P.O.'d at the government, and Islamic radicals flying planes into the WTC? Answer). Other than one group are white Christians Americans, and the other group Islamic radicals, Other than one flew planes and the other group used a truck. there is no difference both groups are terrorist.

ALL news has their won slant and some aren't very nice...the spew and evil that came out of Chris Matthews mouth about the rally for instance was hatred and he clearly said so. His words, not mine. As for Hatch, he is free to support whatever he wishes as are the rest of us.

So your friends did just what was expected of them, and that was nothing. Timothy McVeigh (not McVey)did the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995, killing 168 people. They didn't have to "pin" anything on him, that's a myth. And who are they you ask? People like you. Who close their eyes to the truth and make up what they don't know and call it the truth. And when the truth comes out they say "I don't believe it. I don't care if it is true." People who take FOX NEWS, who never check the facts, as a real source for the news. When all Fox News is a branch of RPBEFF aka Republican Propaganda Broadcasting For Fools.

August 31 2010 at 11:05 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyI do want to add that watching c-span today left me better able to understand several issues and I felt better educated regarding many other issues affecting Muslims. However, I feel uneasy after. It was their utter lack of ability to understand why we feel the way we do sometimes coupled with the fact that there was little they said that came out positive. I felt like I had been criticized and berated for an hour simply for being an American in this country. It left a bad taste in my mouth when they said we were fueled by bigotry, ignorance and filled with hate and fear with no just cause or reason. I think I would have used that time to instill better understanding and relations for all people regardless of religion or ethnicity. However, having said that, perhaps there is a great deal I do not know but I will try to better understand and keep an open mind. It isn't easy though after listening to these speakers.

They have been having services in the building for some time. It is not at ground zero, but two blocks away. Close to some "sacred" strip joints, adult novelty stores and bars. Block one of their churches and listen to the opponents scream. Such hypocrites.
August 31 2010 at 7:39 PM Report abuse Permalink +4 rate up rate down Reply"Muslims have the right to build the mosque near Ground Zero". In fact, its a community center with a room set aside for a Mosque. I read one commentator who said that calling the proposed construction a Mosque would be like referring to St. Mary's Hospital as a Catholic Church rather than as a hospital, because it has a chapel within the building.
August 31 2010 at 7:33 PM Report abuse Permalink +3 rate up rate down ReplyA man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism. 'Very few people were true Nazis,' he said, 'but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.' We are told again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam. The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march... It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers. The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the 'silent majority,' is cowed and extraneous.
