Jeb Bush: 'Your Dreams Will Come True With Rick Scott as Governor'

When Republican Bill McCollum refused to concede the Florida gubernatorial election to Rick Scott on primary election night, many were worried the division would hurt Republican chances in November.

But a GOP "unity event" seems to have made that less likely.

As Abel Harding reported:

One of the stars of the show was former Gov. Jeb Bush, who had been barnstorming the state with Bill McCollum just weeks before. Fresh off Scott's victory, and with Disney themes apparently dancing in his head, Bush promised the world to the assembled faithful.

"Your dreams will come true with Rick Scott as governor," Bush told the crowd.

This is shaping up to be an interesting general election. Independent candidate Bud Chiles is reportedly planning to endorse Democrat Alex Sink.

Meanwhile, there is speculation that Scott will select Rep. Jennifer Carroll, an African-American state representative from Jacksonville who has a 20-year military record, as his running mate.
