President Barack Obama's first news conference in four months is scheduled for Sept. 10.

The White House said Thursday that the president would use the exchange with reporters to discuss economic issues.

The event will come on the heels of Obama's trip next week to Wisconsin and Ohio to deliver speeches on the economy.

It will be the president's first news conference since May 27, when he addressed the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
