No matter your stance on either "War" Sadam needed to be taken OUT, before he killed more of his own people. Are you forgetting how he poisoned an entire town ? Stoned women and raped them. How his sons did the same? They needed to be blown to bits. I enjoyed seeing him hang. The problem with both Afghanistan and Iraq is that the citizens have been beaten down for century's. They have no concept of Freedom. Read "The Charm School" by Nelson DeMill and you might learn something. These people have been fighting since dirt was new. Read the Bible. However if these people want a Democracy they will have to stop fighting amongst themselves, get off their Pitty Pot, and get a back bone. The only way to end this is to destroy 3 generations of them. (Gods law for fighting a war) My son is in military intelligence and he said the "news" has no clue what is going on and people who listen to ANY network are stupid. He assures me there is A LOT of EVIL out there coming for us. So you either kill what you can or you live with the consequences. Oh and last I heard our military was ALL VOLUNTEER and no one is forcing anyone to join up. So don't blame Jenna and Laura for not being in the Military. I have two sons in the Military, do I wish they had picked a different course? Yes but it is THEIR choice and I am very proud of them serving their country. It is just a shame that they have to serve under a complete idiot right now.
September 08 2010 at 9:35 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe surge in Iraq was a total failure, but most Americans have been marinated by ANOTHER propaganda of lies by the same people that took our nation to war ridingthe wings of lies..;..Let's face it folks, leading up to the surge, by then we were the sole super-power on the planet, and we were about to conduct a military operation ( a.k.a dah-surge) on a bunch of thugs that learned how to fire a weapon. To think the outcome of this surge would have been any different, would be equivalent to We-The-People asking the Pentagon for a refund; they're currently getting almost 50 cents of every tax-dollar collected as revenue. They had better give us our money's worth. The purpose of the surge was to reduce the violence and to create an environment conducive for diplomacy to do its thing. Let me conclude by saying iraqis held elections in March and Malaki lost, but since he's the puppet we have dangling on a string, we've somehow managed to keep him im power....; BY GEORGE, WE'VE SURE DEMOCRATIZED THE REGION .
