School's back in session at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. on Tuesday, Sept. 7. The president will spend the day in meetings with his inner circle, pow-wowing with Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton throughout the day. Here's what's on deck:

10:00 a.m. -- The president and vice president receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office.

10:30 a.m. -- The president and vice president receive the Economic Daily Briefing in the Oval Office.

11:10 a.m. -- The president and vice president meet with Secretary of State Clinton. Possible joking and subsequent nervous laughter about this Sunday's discussion on "Meet the Press" that Clinton may (or may not!) run against Obama in 2012.

11:50 a.m. -- The president welcomes NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen to the Oval Office.

12:00 p.m. -- Briefing by Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

12:45 p.m. -- The president and vice president have lunch in the Private Dining Room. Likely discussion of Biden's reaction to the president's pointed remarks about the GOP at Monday's Labor Day speech in Minnesota.

1:15 p.m. -- The president meets with senior advisers in the Oval Office.

4:30 p.m. -- The president and vice president meet with Clinton (again) in the Oval Office. Certain discussion about the secretary of state's upcoming travel to Egypt for the Middle East peace talks.

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.
