Republicans vs. Democrats: Toys R Them

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

Heh I saved this comic to my HDD, I feel it'd make a pretty good discussion point in my PoliSci class. While I'm not entirely sure THE Monopoly guy and his twin brother are actually in control, the comic certainly gets the point across that whoever is, it sure isn't the the Dems or GOP. I think the idea of trying to staff government with Independents might be viable, but you'd need to choose carefully so as to elect those who can mesh ideologies well enough to cooperate efficiently. It's a dicey gamble, but right now it seems like it might be all we've got.

While the American citizens lose all the security they have built for themselves, the politicians continue to play politics. We need to keep changing the faces in our State and Federal Legislatures until they get the message and start working for the people. Along with the faces, we need to change the outrageous pension benefits these people get for serving a single term in Congress. Otherwise, they won't care if they only serve one term. They get that BIG POP anyway.

This cartoon has it right. GOP has no plan. Want less taxes but no plan to cut the deficit which brought us into this recession. Can't get over Reagonomics and supply side economics is another word for deficit spending. Dems want to do something but it involves same old spending habits to same old unions at same old top dollar for work substandard to the profession which means deficit spending. Need new thinking - vote incumbents out. Balanced budget amendment, term limits. federal funding projects at 80% of Bacon Davis or prevailing wage, 20% cut in congressional staffs. If I don't see this on the majors platforms, I will vote for on an independent party line and not for an incumbent

It would be nice to be able to get in an Independant, but have doubts that it would happen, I want it to, but I dont think the Rinos or Demorats will let it happen, in other words they'd do what they did to Ross Perot, try to did up some crap, and then just make it hard, hard, hard.......................... Best thing to do is be a part of new and upcoming Constitutional Conservatives to take out the Rinos. But as we Now Know, we have to watch them. This fellow has the right idea. The middle-class in this country is disappearing under a mountain of debt while the Democrats cry for more spending and the Tea Party demands more tax cuts. Nothing but pawns.
