Would You Watch 'The Meghan McCain Show'?

Since the release of her new book, "Dirty Sexy Politics," Meghan McCain has made the rounds on TV. She was on "Good Morning America," "The View," "The Tonight Show," and the "O'Reilly Factor" -- just to name a few.

But now, it appears McCain may be working on a deal that would land the famous daughter of Senator John McCain her own television show. At least, that's what she's hinting at.

According to a New York Times column from Friday, McCain,
... confided that she was in the "very, very baby stages of some television stuff, just development." She quickly added, "I would never do a reality show, ever."

The column goes on to speculate about the possibilities, asking:

Could a "Meghan McCain Show" be a reasonable future move? "It's easy to imagine that she could pull it off," [Daily Beast Executive Editor] Mr. Felsenthal said. ["The View" host Sherri] Shepherd had a still stronger reaction, "I absolutely see Meghan in television. When she comes on and talks she puts the ideologies in practical terms, and she makes it so you understand." She added, "Meghan will never have to go on 'Dancing with the Stars.' "

All I can say is: Thank God for Netflix!

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

No way would I watch her. I don't like her or her father. Without her fathers never ending career in the Senate we wouldn't even know who she was.

NO, I would not watch her on TV. She is silly and has absolutely NOTHING that would make her a good host for a show. If her father were not John McCain, we never would have heard of her.

As those currently on TV age, retire and die there will be slots for replacements. I don't see much about Meghan McCain that stands out. Her biggest maverick characteristic is being a registered Republican and her endorsement of John McCain is hardly an edgy or avant guard position. Even so if she appears on TV for a year she could hardly do worse than most people on TV now. Now if she started strapping on a pair of pistols wherever she goes (including on TV) that would be something I could pay attention to. Until then - yawn.

No. I've given up TV. Wouldn't make a difference who was on. I just find it hard to believe people complaining about taxes when they toss $100 or so a month into cable or direct TV. Rather have cable tv than universal health care. Boy this country is past its prime

I saw her on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and all she could do is giggle, seriously. Maybe CNN will take her on since they are so desperate for any programming.
