Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

Sadly, even with all the disagreement between the parties in Washington, when the day is over our elected official are all friends in the ruling class and this cartoon is probably more true than people think. All they care about is being re-elected. They don't care at all about the people. Look at Murkowski in Alaska. She was going to let the people decide and respect their decision - until she lost. Now she's going to be a write-in candidate because she just can't live with the fact that the people don't want her. Arlan Spector, same way, only he swithced parties. He didn't do that because he suddenly saw the light of the left. He did id to stay in office. Charlie Christ in Florida - another one. The Republicans don't want him so he went independent to try to be elected. After saying he wouldn't do that. They all want that power. That's it. It's disgusting.

Hey you don't think they want to give up the easy money. Once you get into office the lobbists come rolling in with checkbooks in hand. Don't pass Cap and Trade it will cost money to try and protect the environment, but they'll lose jobs, only to kept their bottom line up. Scream and yell that the government is going to run healthcare even though thats absurd and not even close, I read the power points of the bill. Bring Wall street before congress and hear them plead the fifth and give them a small fine. If anyone thinks congress is working for us must have their head examined, follow the money and who benefits from the crying not everyday Americans.
