"I understand the anger, the primal scream, the frustration," Lazio said. "I want to see [Paladino and Cuomo] pull together to hold candidates accountable and have a real meaningful set of ideas."
Although Lazio lost the Republican nomination, he qualified to run for governor in November's general action on the Conservative Party ticket. Since then, GOP leaders in the state have urged him to drop his bid in order to clear the way for a two-way contest between Paladino, who is strongly backed by Tea Party supporters, and Cuomo. That is good news. A downstate insider in the GOP. The state needs to wein itself from that type as it has shown to be most unproductive regarding the state's efficiency. Paladino is a hack but I'd rather vote for someone, one time around, than a well polished nothing. Jesse Ventura, as governor of Minnesota at least brought some light to that state. Who's governor there now? Would you visit that state because the current governor or with Jesse at the helm. Time for something new. Same old doesn't cut it. (Like a same old Cuomo)
