Pete Rouse to fill Emanuel's shoes in the interim until a permanent chief of staff is named. Here's what's on tap:
10:00 a.m. -- The president receives the presidential daily briefing in the Oval Office.
11:05 a.m. -- Makes a "personnel announcement" in the East Room. (No word on whether there will be "Rahm for Mayor" buttons on sale outside the West Wing.)
11:30 a.m. -- Meets with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office.
12:15 p.m. -- Briefing by Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.
2:00 p.m. -- Attends Justice Elena Kagan's investiture ceremony at the Supreme Court.
3:20 p.m. -- Receives the economic daily briefing in the Oval Office.
4:00 p.m. -- Meets with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates in the Oval Office.
