Gloria Allred Says Letter Proves Meg Whitman Knowingly Employed Illegal Immigrant

The lawyer of Meg Whitman's former housekeeper has made public a letter she says proves the California gubernatorial candidate knew her client was an undocumented worker.

ABC News reported that the letter, dated 2003, is from the Social Security Administration to Whitman and her husband, Griffith Harsh, advising them that the Social Security number of their housekeeper, Nicky Diaz, did not match their files.

At a news conference Thursday, Diaz's lawyer, Gloria Allred, said the couple never confronted Diaz about the letter and instead allowed her to continue working for them for six more years.

Whitman has denied that the Social Security Administration ever sent them a notification about Diaz. In a statement, Harsh admitted he might have seen the letter, but said it wasn't necessarily a warning about Diaz's immigration status.

"Neither Meg nor I believed there was a problem with Nicky's legal status and I certainly don't recall ever discussing it with my wife, nor did I ever show her any letter about it," Harsh said.

Allred accused Whitman and Harsh of wanting "to employ an undocumented worker because she was easier to exploit."

In her own news conference Thursday, Whitman said she didn't report the housekeeper to immigration officials when she learned about her status because "I didn't think it was the right thing." The former eBay chief said she did not break the law by not speaking up, ABC reported.

Whitman's camp said the timing of the revelations so close to the election prove it's "clearly a coordinated political attack" by Allred, labor unions and Democrat Jerry Brown's campaign.

"We love having Gloria Allred as a foil because people know she's everything they hate about the legal system," Whitman adviser Mike Murphy told The Los Angeles Times.

At a press conference Wednesday in Los Angeles, a tearful Diaz detailed how she "suffered" as an employee of Whitman.

It is past time to deal with Illegal aliens. The simple solution is to punish those that employ them! No more free rides no amnesty no more benefits! Get at the back of the line and go through the proper process. Everyone is always glorifying them saying " but this country benefits from them. This is not so if you compare/ contrast the net gains versus the net losses to our country. When I say our country I mean those of us legally born here that pay our taxes and abide in the law. Those that espouse a free ride should sneak into Mexico and compare the punishment given for illegally sneaking into that country!!!!!!!!!

California has been ran into the ground with it's elected leaders such as Brown and Boxer. Both have had long carries in California politics. With decades to prove there ability to run this state into the toilet. I'm truly surprised that any voter would even consider Brown or Boxer as competent leaders. Both have idly stood bay or hand direct involvement making easy for corporate giants to leave the state. and a large portion of the voters blame the CEO for sound business decisions. The jobs didn't just disappear they left Californians hi coast of doing business implemented by political monkeys. Ironic they chase them away and then blame them for leaving.

Why is this woman still in this country? If an American citizen had falsified documents, they would be in jail. This woman entered this country illegally, lied to her employer and when Whitman found out she fired her. I guess she didn't report her because the woman is still here. She should be jailed for breaking our laws and then immediately be deported. If the government would do their job and deport any illegal, this country would not be faced with overburdening of our social services, education, healthcare, food stamps, stipends for housing, etc. all of which are increasing our taxes that we can no longer afford to pay.

Whitman paid this person $23.00/hour plus room and board, nice job if you can get it, the minimum wage is $7. How many hours did she work? This is obviously a ploy by Alred to derail Whitman, how low can you go?

Gloria is nothing more than a gold digger. This is another smear tactic by the leftest to smear an demean someone for their own gain. Using this women as a pawn, Gloria doesn't care about the truth. Meg Whitman has proven that the agentcy checked out the housekeeper and found her documents legal. They are the ones that should be under fire. The illegal housekeeper mislead the agency and she should be arrested. She was treated well, paid 23.00 an hour, room and board. The letter in question is a letter that was sent to Diaz. Falsifying documents is a crime. This women wants an immigration attorney to get her legal status. This is a ploy by The gold digging Allred, nothing more. She contributes donations to the Brown campaign that should be a RED flag. Connect the dots. it will lead to the truth. Shame on Gloria for using this women.

Shyster Allred exposes a woman as an illegal immigrant in order to sabatoge Whitman's political career. Diaz is being used, not helped, by Allred. If the Federal government and the administration believes in the rule of law, not men, then then Immigration service (ICE) should have arrested Diaz yesterday and deported her immediately. Unfortunately, we are not a nation of laws. We are a nation dominated by cheap political gangsters, a smart-mouthed punk President, politicians who use the laws to enrich themselves and oppress others. The real story here is the fact that Democrats are worse than the worst motorcycle gang.

Ask yourself, why would one of the richest women in the world do that? The maids pay was three times what an average worker gets. Desperate measures by desperate democrates. California seems to want illegals as witnessed by the number of sanctuary cities, does Gloria Allred prefer her pet immigrants work or rob people to support themselves. Sounds like she must hate illegal immigrants if she makes such a case for not hiring one. Typical liberal hypocrite.

she hired an illegal...isn't that what you republicans keep screaming about? all of the illegals who are taking your jobs? Now you find out that one of your candidates had an illegal working for her and that is okay with you? very hypocritical...I guarantee you if it had been Jerry Brown you would be on the other side of the fence.

She didn't know that she was illegal. Tim Geithner did the same thing, what happened to him?

Remember the maid on the Brady Bunch? There was no question about her citizenship. I know thats fiction but I was just saying that if people employed people like her there would be no hassles and then if they are denying foreigners jobs, less would come sneaking across the border because they would know no one wants to hire them legal or illegal. They all look alike so how can you tell who is the one with status from the one without?

..sorry but that is outright racism. There are many Americans of Mexican descent as well as those from South America that do not look like the maid on the Brady Bunch. IRS has a system in place where you can verify the number to the name. If the person has an accent ask to see their residency cards or Naturalization card its that simple. It may sound racist but that seems to be the easiest way. At least an employer can protect themselves later by saying they checked citizenship before hiring.

I would tend to believe Meg Whitman. She is under attack by slimy lawyers and the democractic spin smear machine. I bet if Meg put more money to it, she could afford to find equal dirt on her sleazy opponent. I doubt it is her style. She was a businesswoman, not a political bum. But vote for the one who would do California a great job. You have to live in your state, I don't, and doubt I will ever visit again. Last time was a drag. Your highways are shot. Your infrastructure is dirty and needs maintenance. Once beautiful cities now look like 3rd world countries. It is no longer the vacation site it once was.
