The committee's report, an analysis of 125 contracts provided by the Department of Defense, also lashes out at lax oversight of security contracts. The Defense Department often showed little to no due diligence before awarding millions of dollars to companies and did not follow up on results, an Armed Service committee investigator said.I'm not sure that this is going to change anything. This is the third such report that the oversight of these contractors is weak. How do you provide oversight? Evidently, nothing can be done or it would have been. The Department of Defense said they have taken steps, the contractors say they followed instructions, gave the names of all employees, etc., so now what. I say fire them all, send them home and stop funneling money. If we knew about this 3 years ago, why hasn't it been stopped? I just don't understand how government works.
