How Obama Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Oligarchy

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

Cake? Us Seniors can't even get a SS COLA. The Dept of Agriculture just reported that corn is up 8%, beef and pork 4-5%, and eggs 7%. Gasoline has risen 20-25 cents per gal. in the last few days. Yet this admin. states that- "THERE IS NO INFLATION". Tell this to the 58,000,000 Seniors, who will be voting in November. 8:09

Both sides have ceeated monsters. Clinton look good because he force banks to loan money to people who could afford to buy houses. New housing boomed, we pay for it now. Bush expanded government. Puts us in debt. Obama has not stop the loans to people who cannot afford it and is exspanding government. So I guess he learned from the past two.

The cartoon is sad but true. We should be past who caused the recession that is counter productive. We need to focus on who is retarding the recovery.

Read the book "The 5000 year leap." It will open your eyes to the true meaning of the US constitution, the declaration of independence, our founding fathers, etc. Our founding fathers were brilliant. Wish they were here to run this country and bring it back to glory.

Obama is no different than any other man who has taken over a powerful country. Once that happens, once they know they can have whatever and whoever they want they are as corrupted as any man can be. Heaven help us get through the next two years.

Yea- checks and balances by the Republicans. Those guys. They're the ones since 1980 (Reagan) to have massively grown the federal government, increased the federal debt to record levels by not paying for it (NOT TAX AND SPEND - just BORROW AND SPEND) and basically followed their plan to bankrupt the good ol' USA in order to privatize everything for their Corporate masters. Even Clinton (whom I'm not a fan of) reduced the size of Government. Letting these people be in "Control" of the government is like letting a drunk behind the wheel of a car. BEWARE AND BE VERY, VERY AFRAID!!!

Sure...but they will have to deal with a veto pen in the White House. Government by any one political party doesn't seem to work.

HIstory (TRUE history, not what you read in the "revised and sanitized Democrat versions taught in the Public Schools for the last 50+ years) shows us that the Democrats of the last 100 years ALWAYS were the party of tax, spend, and expand government, whereas the Republicans did the opposite except for a VERY brief period in the early 2000's. Anyone who has a modicum of brains would NEVER vote for a Democrat or Liberal. Unless, of course, they wanted to live off the work of others. Best analogy: Democrats are the Grasshoppers and Republicans the ants in the fable "The Ant and the Grasshopper", the earliest extant story truly showing the difference between the two parties. (There have ALWAYS been the earners and the freeloaders.)

It was a curiosity when he started endorsing an incumbent Arlen Spector against Sestak in Pennsylvania. He promoted the bankers and economists that caused this financial mess to positions where they are committed to continuing their "God's Work." Vote for a Republican Congress...lets get some check n balances going here!!!
