Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

My suggestion to the Republican figure is the Federal Government should only be in charge of Defense, Interior and Treasury. Take all of the rest and return contron to the states. Schools for example should be in main control of the parents, (neighborhoods) cities, and States in that order. If we would do this then we would return to what our founding fathers wanted with the Constitution. Every person should be responsible for themselves, their families with allegiance to their states and the Federal Government should stick to what they can handle and even this might not be good

Cutting taxpayer funding to NPR and the NEA would be a great start. I could come up with many, many more useless programs such as these. Both are a complete waste of the taxpayer's money.
