It's little wonder her approval rating is melting faster than the wicked witch she's been portrayed as; yours would be, too, if you were starring in coast-to-coast ads as everything from a reckless driver to a monster. (This one, "The Attack of the 50-Foot Pelosi,'' shows her being electrocuted. And almost universally, she's cast as a woman with historically bad hair. Here are a few of the tamer anti-Pelosi messages dominating this campaign season – oh, but those are just the Democrats.) Some Democratic House staffers are peeved that the president she helped get elected – just ask Hillary Clinton -- has uttered not a word in her defense, and wondering how broken-hearted he would be if his party lost the House, perhaps better setting him up for '12. Yet, though politicians are a pretty thin-skinned bunch, Pelosi has a reputation among her peers as someone who is not so much impervious to attacks as downright invigorated by them. Which sounded like hooey, I must say, until I asked her how that could be.Nancy Pelosi is a perfect example of what's wrong with our political system. It is obvious that Pelosi will do and say anything for political gain. She has put her politics and Party before her religion. She is an ex-communicated Catholic under Canon Law 1329 (Latae Sententiae), and she even went as far as to misrepresent her Church's dogma as to when life begins. Now ,I am sure that this is not important to secular America or those who call themselves Christians but forget about their responsibilities to Jesus Christ when they vote. But,to me, it is important, and my Christian beliefs,my values and principles will always come first. And that is why,as a Christian and independent, there are many politicians for whom I will not vote. And Nancy Pelosi is on of those politicians.

The wealthy 20% of our nation own 85+% of our national wealth; and Ms Pelosi has greatly contributed to that disparity in the distribution of wealth in the USA. Let's not be deceived by those who foist party against party . . . BOTH the Republican and Democratic parties are controlled by the elitist speicial interests groups. The ONLY SALVATION for the American people to to take back control of their political parties and to oust almost all of the incumbent Congressment. You can't "take back" the already established ownership of wealth; you can only tax FURUTURE profits or expenditures of those monies. It will literally take SEVERAL DECADES to address these problems. Pelosi must be voted out of office.
October 25 2010 at 11:38 AM PermalinkWhat an incredible woman. She has performed remarkably as Speaker of the House.
October 25 2010 at 11:35 AM PermalinkNancy Pelosi has been quite successful FOR THE ELITISTS SPECIAL INTERESTS GROUPS to the vast disadvantage to the vast majority of the American people. She tries to cloak her actions as being in the interests of the American people; but that simply is NOT TRUE. The wealthy 20% of the population who now ALREADY OWN 85% of our national wealth is who Nancy Plosi is serving. nancy Pelosi is one of the principle palyers in defrauding and misinforming the American people. Check out her personal wealth and see where she is in all of these matters. Nancy Pelosi MUST BE VOTED OUT of OFFICE if the best interests of the American people is to be served. Ms Pelosi is trying to use forms of socialism to benefit the wealthy, NOT the American people. They use the quasi-socialistic programs to delude the public about what is REALLY going on. Read Ron Paul's book "End the Fed" to learn what is really occuring. Our nation has been sold out to the wealthy elitists special interests by the likes of Nancy Pelosi.
October 25 2010 at 11:31 AM PermalinkNancy Pelosi and the Democrats just do not seem to see where they are taking us. This Country is now broke and we cannot pay the debt. Our children are born into poverty before they even have a chance. There are no more jobs in the US that you go to work and retire from. Their views on Gun control are so backwards as every state that has the toughfest Gun controls have the higest crime rates. California is one of the hardest States to buy a gun yet crime is higher than any surrounding State. New Jersey where you have to see permission to buy a gun has a high rate of crime. Delaware right next door has a liberal Gun policy yet a very low crime rate. Arizona next to California has a liberal Gun policy and its crime rate is low. California wants to open its borders yet they are already broke from paying handouts. Dosen't anyone ever look at the results of their actions. This Country is so hung up on either Republican or Democrate and voting down party lines that they no longer care what they are voting for. The Tea party has already started following the same path. Wake up and listen to the people we are the tired the weary the poor and we need jobs not hand outs.
October 25 2010 at 11:31 AM PermalinkThanks Melinda. I think it is a great article. I also think most Democrats and Independents, who helped take back the governance of the US from the warmongers and big business stooges certainly appreciate Mrs. Pelosi’s hard work and dedication. Her ongoing success spanking Republicans in public is what has made her the lightening rod for the attack dogs. I am always somewhat dismayed with the Democratic Party’s inability to compete against the high priced propaganda machine operated by the Republicans. Add the new propaganda inspired by the even more radical right wingnut interlopers trying to take over the Republican Party and the good news and dedication gets lost in the propaganda barrage. October 25 2010 at 10:15 AM Permalink +18The reason Nancy Pelosi is getting so much flack is due to her being the first American female citizen to ever hold that traditionally male position which is the 3rd position in line for the presidency should anything happen to the president and the vice president. Republican males want that position to be filled by a male for the Washington D.C. good old boy political club. Democrats don't think that she could ever get the presidency, so they allowed her to score one for American women, because they managed to keep Obama from choosing a female VP during the last election. Ladies, Get it?
October 25 2010 at 10:15 AM Permalink -14Every veteran out their should applaud Nancy Pelosi. Every person under 65 should applaud her, because of what, by sheer determination she has accomplished in Congress. The boo birds hate her because what they think she is. Mostly these hateful people are basically just uninformed. Money at the trough? You have to be kidding they had plenty of dough before she took office. 70 now, Nancy can live in the lap of luxury financially.& spiritually...knowing what she really has been a valuable asset to this nation.
October 25 2010 at 10:13 AM Permalink -21If the vitriol contained in these comments represents a "civilogue," then AOL's policy has obviously failed. Most of the accusations are merely unsubstantiated attacks and those that refer to anything concrete contain little or no truth. For instance, the brouhaha over Obama and Pelosi conjuring up a scheme to make veterans pay for their own health insurance was simply not true. The White House proposed that we could save $540 million dollars per year by billing veterans' private insurance companies for treatment of their combat injuries. It was a hamhanded proposal, to say the least, as veterans groups were quick to point out in a meeting with the president, but the proposal would NOT have forced veterans to pay for their treatment of their injuries out of their own pocket, as the critics said. Also, that nonsense about Pelosi requesting a 540-seat luxury jet to transport her back and forth across the country is another half-truth. After 9/11, it was George W. Bush who requested secure military transportation for the Speaker, who is second in line to succeed the presidency. At the time, the Speaker was Dennis Hastert, and he flew a military C-20B from Washington to his home in Illinois and back again at least once a week. Pelosi merely inquired about that plane's suitability to fly non-stop from Washington to California. Her office was told that, depending on the wind and weather, it might not be able to make it without re-fueling. As she told the press, the size of the jet didn't matter as long as it was capable of flying non-stop to California. (She flies once a month, by the way, on a military transport, not weekly as Hastert did.) Finally, this business about her ramming bills through the House at midnight probably refers to the passage of the Health Care bill, when the vote was taken on a weekend. If that's the only example the Republics can come up with, they had better search for more evidence because that bill was fought over and debated for months before it finally came to a vote. Some rammer she is. To those critics who love to paint Pelosi as the "Wicked Witch of the West," you are entitled to your opinion, but not your own facts. The truth hurts, doesn't it?
