This week on Politics Daily's online Sunday show, Woman UP, Patricia Murphy, Jill Lawrence, Bonnie Erbe and I discuss Nancy Pelosi's decision to run for minority leader. And why, after protracted complaining that Democrats had focused on the wrong thing – passing health care reform instead of creating jobs – did Republicans spend the days immediately following their victory focused on – repealing health care reform instead of creating jobs?

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

All of a sudden, Republicans are backing Pelosi. No big surprise.

repealing health care was one of the issues that got the elephant back.At least they are doing something the people want. I sure didn't want this kind of health care rammed down people's throats there's plenty of jobs out there if one does not mind a little manuel labor. To expect high pay right now is off the mark. If people would just live within their means and quit trying to out do the jones'es we'd all be a lot better off

If Nancy cared about the country instead of herself, she would just fade away. Like so many politicans, she has a huge ego and likes the attention and power. Take her gavel and plane say goodbye.

First, it is NOT health care reform: it is forced purchase of insurance and services, and Obamacare is a job-killer. Thus it is not a misplaced priority to oppose Obamacare. Higher costs, fewer choices, and vastly expanded Federal overhead do not translate to accessible, affordable care from competent providers. Many employers, ironically including AARP which shilled for Obamacare, are being placed in a position of absorbing sharply higher costs or passing them on to employees directly due to Obamacare requirements. This legislation is a misbegotten vision of a trite leftist vision which has failed in every nation to have tried it: Western Europe is headed away from the model Obama would force us into.
