The public affairs cable network hopes Boehner will allow its cameras the freedom to capture wide shots of the chamber and also to catch lawmakers' reactions while their colleagues are holding forth. Currently C-SPAN is limited to static shots of speaking congress members during debate.
C-SPAN also wants to install remote control cameras.
Network officials used Boehner's own words to make their argument. Earlier this year the senator called for greater television access to debate over President Obama's health care legislation.
"Every issue of national import should be debated by the people's elected representatives in full public view," C-SPAN cites from a Boehner letter sent in January.
Boehner has not yet responded.
USA Today said C-SPAN made a similar request to Republican Newt Gingrich in 1994 and Democrat Nancy Pelosi in 2006, as they prepared to take over as speaker.
Finger pointing, name calling, and trying to assign blame. No one is tired of this BS yet?? Just keep trying to pretend that the two gigantic money hungry, corrupt, political parties who only care about reelection and power give one single hoot about the voters. Divide, conquer, and then steal. They BOTH do it, They are BOTH to blame, and incase you haven't noticed, while the sheep on these comment pages keep arguing among themselves, NOTHING is getting any better, and sadly it won't. It is time to stop arguing among ourselves, and unregister with either political party. If everyone in America carried a voter registration card that said NA - non affilited, the two crooked parties that think they CONTROL every election would have to stop assuming they already have your vote. They would have to listen, and respond to America's needs, instead of their own. They would have to EARN your vote rather than assume they already have it. So keep bickering, that has solved nothing. Keep repeating you parties broken promises. Until we are all independent voters, and memebrs of NO political party, nothing, NOTHING is going to improve.

Being transformed into a Christ Like person will determine how you think, act, and what you believe in. This is not Democratic or Republican but when one of these parties so clearly publishes their beliefa and promotes actions that are not christ like and against Gods teaching then the fruits of the party become anti christian and cannot be ignored. So people that support the party over Gods teaching are wrong and not Christ Like.

They should have nothing to hide and with the cameras on them they can be held acountable for their actions. Then maybe they will start doing their jobs instead of bickering and worring about getting relected.

The problem being that the jobs that created went to Japan, China, India, etc. where all the products are bought. We don't have manufacturing going on in our country anymore because of all the free trade agreements. We don't charge tariffs or duties on imported goods, therefore manufactures outsourse their companies overseas where the cost of labor is cheaper. Wake up, our government and politicians have sold out our country.

There was a very good reason we cleaned house in 2008. Now the same people who put us in the position we are in today are back. The recovery we are beginning to see is going to stop. Sadly, in 2012 all we will be about to say is we told you so as we take congress back and keep the White House.
November 16 2010 at 11:26 AM Report abuse Permalink -13 rate up rate down ReplyPeople posts on here really amaze me as they differentiate the dems and the repubs. Get real they all work for the same group, themselves. The reason the stimulus and tarp monies haven't created many jobs is because most of it was stolen. Have you all forgotten already the huge bonus's that were paid to the wall street magots who got us into this mess and caused all thier own companies to fail as they enriched themselves in the process, talk about stupidity. They should have got zero for a bonus a 50 percent pay cut and given back half their pay for the prior year before one cent of our money was given to bail them out. Now that would make sense, not rewarding them fore theft and failure.

It merely is media creating drama where there is none to create revenue. The American puble wants to be informed on how and who is doing and saying what about the issues. They don't want it EDITED to look like a soap opera.

A prime example of bipartisanship - the plan was nothing less than perfect - but of course - Obama STILL criticized and demounced Boehner . Mr. Boehner - keep up the GREAT work - I feel 100% CONFIDENT with you as Speaker of the House .
November 16 2010 at 10:23 AM Report abuse Permalink +21 rate up rate down ReplyI did not realize that CSpan was limited to just the speaker. THAT IS WRONG! The American people have a right to observe all interactions in the House and Senate! We need to see who is sleeping on the job!
