When Quinnipiac asked the president question in January 2008, 52 percent said he'd make a good president while 39 percent disagreed, with 9 percent undecided.President?... PRESIDENT??? Bloomberg is probably the most likely reason I'm thankful that I no longer live in NYC. The man's performance as Mayor has shown him to be a clone of President Obama and his disastrous administration. The city, like our nation, needs this "mommycrat"-style government like it needs another bubonic plague. Although GWB continues to be blamed for everything bad in the USA except (so far) warts and tooth decay, the current ruling bunch is even more pathetic and scary. Thank God we're still free enough here that I can register and vote (and I DO VOTE) as an Independent. (Come to think of it, political parties (Take your pick!) and politicians should be required to carry that infamous anti-tobacco warning: "DANGEROUS TO YOUR HEALTH!" God help the USA!!!

He feels no need to curry favor or kowtow to anybody; even when he takes a position with which I disagree, he's wrong for the right reasons: rightly or wrongly, he's doing what he thinks is right for the city. He's never been guily of making a political decision to benefit his political party, or for personal gain, or for any ulterior motive of which I am aware. He's never had a concealed "agenda." In short, he is one of the few genuinely honorable people around. I can't think of anyone more qualified than Mayor Bloomberg to be President of the United States.

November 23 2010 at 8:50 PM Report abuse Permalink +2 rate up rate down ReplyAmericans are tiring of campaigns and slogans and rhetoric and promises that politicians are unwilling or unable to keep. Americans are also beginning to understand that agreeing with ideas and general political philosophies of candidates is not enough to solve problems. Americans realize that we need leaders and representatives that are able to competently implement policies and govern effectively.
