Sarah Palin Won't 'Waste' Time With Katie Couric or Other 'Biased' Interviewers

Sarah Palin says she wants to help "clean up" the sorry state of journalism and won't "waste my time" with the likes of CBS news anchor Katie Couric if she runs for president in 2012.

In an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity, Palin claimed some expertise in journalism and looked forward to "being more open than I already am" -- but only with reporters that understand the "cornerstone of our democracy, that expectation that the public has for truth to be reported."

"I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism," she told the conservative commentator. "And I have a communications degree. I studied journalism, who, what, where, when and why of reporting."

Palin's performance in an interview with Couric during the 2008 presidential campaign was a low point for her as the Republican vice presidential nominee. Asked then what newspapers she read, she couldn't name a single publication.

On Fox Monday night, she didn't say what her journalism clean-up project would entail, other than ignoring Couric and any other reporter "who is so biased and will, no doubt, spin and gin up whatever it is that I have to say to create controversy. I swear to you, I will not waste my time with" such journalists. She often denounces the print and broadcast news business as the "lamestream media."

As for 2012, Palin, onetime governor of Alaska, has already been lumped in a "top tier" of potential Republican presidential hopefuls by the Washington Post. The others are former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee -- a 2008 candidate whom the Post sees a likely Palin rival for the votes of religious conservatives.

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Katie Couric's interview was an "elite journalists" contribution to try try to make the "peoples" top candidate look as ignorant and inept as she is.Its not always the questions but the way they're asked. By the way, today it was announced by CBS that they are attempting to lower Ms.Courics salary. Obviously even her employer doesn't think she's doing such a great a job.

I never thought Sarah Palin's interview with Katie Couric was a tough interview. Why would it be problem to say what you read....if you read? She prefers FOX News because she knows she will never be asked a difficult question. Say what you want, she is a smart poitician who has parlayed a failed vice-presidential bid into making a fotune.

sarah is willing to give interviews to people who agree with her biases. so her statement that she won't waste time with biased reporters is just another lie like death panels.

"The eventual resolution of the deficit problem both will and should rely on “death panels and sales taxes." -- Paul Krugman So Sarah Palin was absolutely correct.

Yeah right Carey, you just keep on thinking that way with your head in the sand. In time you will see that you are wrong about reporters and death panels. You will also see what Obama is really doing, and it is not good. But you have to pull your head out first.

I will bet not many nay-sayers about Sarah Palin have read her book, "Going Rouge." If they read her book, they would have a better understanding and appreciation of one of the greatest political minds in this nations history. The nay-sayers are refusing to admit how well she did in the VP debate. They got a good opportunity to see her. Read her book, learn about her. Until the nay-sayers truly know the facts in her book, all they can do is joke and make fun. And don't forget, nay-sayers, there are millions of people who love her!

She is not the sole author of that book. A ghostwriter helped her but does not get credit.

I think you meant to say going rogue. Going Rouge would be the advice a woman at the sales counter at Macy's makeup department would give you -- which come to think of it is really where Palin belongs. That this dimwit is even mentioned as a possible presidential contender just shows the level of intellect that is lacking in the republican party. If this dimmest of dim bulbs is the darling of the republicans, it speaks volumes as to who actually is left in the republican party. Because you have to be pretty dimwitted to fall for this slick chick.

Of course, Palin wouldn't want Katie Couric to interveiw her. She well remembers the last time when Couric let Palin shatter her own very thin veneer by asking her simple questions to which Palin didn't have a clue. Sean Hannity would be glad to interveiw Palin. He acts like a giggling little girl when around his idle Conservatives.

That pretty much takes her out of the running! Thank God!

I doubt Katie would waste any more time with Palin.

Journalisum according to Sarah Palin? Maybe Couric should run for president. I think she's a hell of a lot brighter than Palin.

ABC News is biased somewhat to Fox News. Remember ABC Radio syndicates Sean Hannity's show.
