Democrats and Republicans: Quit That Cryin' or I'll Give You Somethin' to Cry About

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

Why can't people see that the Gop is stalling and stalling. This is terrible. Obama reaches across the aisle now for years. What is going on? Why doesn't the Gop help to get things done for the American people by opposing everything they used to stand for? it is so obvious what is going on and it is not helping the American citizens. When will the people wake up? I guess we middle class should start our own tea party or something similar and go out on the streets to protest the republicans stubborness and protest their ridiculous and radical thinking which is going against everything this country stands for. We are being screwed by thenm. I have a new name for the protests. Will try to organize a movement to get the fire under them for the benefit of all of us. So, will see you on the cables......

Sometimes I feel so alone thinking that it is BOTH political parties that are failing us. Good to know that someone understands.

How many republicans lost seat? How many democrats lost seats? Was this a message to one of the party that the people did not agree with thier agenda?

John, it really was a message to both of the parties...but we really didn't have much choice except Dem or Repub. The left and the right are losing their "status quo" members and going both further left and further right. Going left will bring in the progressive party, cradle to grave government we are seeing fall apart in Europe, etc. Going right will bring back the constitution, smaller government, and personal responsibility. There are huge factions of our country that want each of these things. Time will tell which side win...but right now it is conservatism...THANKFULLY!

Bottom line, the republicans are exactly that and worse, the dems, not so much. Just more lies to cater to the right wing and make them feel like they arent as bad as they really are.

SEN. Mitch McConell's sole purpose on camera is to make sure that the president won't get a second term. It's going to be 2 years of slow progress just to make him look bad and that sickening.

The senior Senator from Kentucky is also the fella that normally attaches his "earmarks" (PORK) to bills that he knows are going to pass and then, "for the record" (FOR SHOW),votes NO on the bill!

It makes one laugh. Obama appoints someone to WIN BACK WALL STREET while speechifying about how the "other" Party is in the pocket of Wall Street. It makes one ask the question: How can you win BACK something you never had?
