Sarah Palin: 'We've Got to Stand With Our North Korean Allies'

It may have been just a slip of the tongue, but when you're a potential candidate for president, these things get noticed. While criticizing the Obama administration's handling of the crisis on the Korean peninsula, Sarah Palin said it's important that the U.S. supports "our North Korean allies."

Appearing on Glenn Beck's radio show Wednesday, the former Alaska governor was asked how she would handle the situation between North and South Korea.

"This speaks to a bigger picture here that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy," Palin says. "But obviously we've gotta stand with our North Korean allies."

"South Korea," the host corrects her.

"And we're also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes," she replies.

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. In a funny way, she reminds me of Zsa Zsa Gabor, Angelyne, and other pseudo-celebrities who are famous for being "characters". She is just an oddity. Sarah Palin is not taken seriously by more than a TINY minority of voters. She is absurd as a political candidate, knows nothing about the issues, has no clue about policy, foreign or domestic, couldn't read a budget sheet of she had to, so except that interviewing her fills air space. She will NEVER be taken seriously in the future as a candidate for any public office. As one comment noted, even to conservative Republicans, she is an embarrassment.

1. I am not a Palin fan, but this was just a slip of the tongue. She had clearly just referred to North Korea as the country that needed to be sanctioned. Funny and great joke fodder, but much-to-do about nothing on the merits. 2. Electing Palin would give us the same kinds of problems we had with GW Bush and Obama. Each was a political and governmental novice (relatively speaking) whose rhetoric far exceeded reality and their true ability. When will we learn? If we want someone with real experience and wisdom, then we must choose someone who already has it, not someone we hope will learn it on the job. We may be tired of the "insiders" but most of them have not gotten where they are by being ignorant, irresponsible, or politically inept.

Lord help us if this women is in any part of government in Washington D.C. If she were to become President she'll have us sleeping with the enemy. Talk about something that's scary. Sounds like she is the biggest threat to our national security. Lucky for you Alaska that she decided to join the many silly reality shows!

Palin doesn't think Obama will stand strong against the current aggression. Well, at least Obama won't bomb South Korea like Palin probably would.

I'm a LEFT-wing Republican and speak for many other party members when I say Sarah Palin and her Tea Party cronies are a major source of embarrassment and shame to us. We are sick of being fed the Tea Party propaganda for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Every party has qualified, intelligent and experienced members who understand issues, responsible work ethics, and integrity. Why aren't these deserving Republicans the face of our party instead of those whose self-serving agendas rule their narrow-minded worlds? Sarah Palin and the Tea Party don't speak for us!

Lip of the tongue, my eye. If she made a slip of the tongue she would have paused a second and said something like- Oh, what did I say? Or maybe, Oh, did I say North Korea? I meant South Korea. But no, she just went on like nothing happened after she was corrected. I go along with the Keith Olbermann description of Palin. "That woman is an idiot."

Why. Who knows if Sarah realizes that Canada is one of our allies?

I still want Mitt Romney as President, he is the no nonsense Man we need, and my choice has nothing to do with Party, "We the People" are watching for the best PERSON as President, and as a "Tea Party Patriot" we don't adhere to Rep or Dem, we seek and vote who will work for America! We do not base our votes on gender, race, or who is the best looking.

You know, when I heard this on Glenn Beck, I thought .... wow - these chucklehead lefties are gonna be all over this. I was right! It was a slip of the tongue - big freakin' deal ..... everybody does it. Including your precious Obama, Biden, Pelosi, et.al. If the lefties didn't worry so much about Sarah ..... they wouldn't ALWAYS be on her case. She scares you, not only because she's a strong conservative woman, but also because she's a voice ..... a voice of the true american people - those who love God and country - those who are not interested in being "world citizens"!
