Obama and the Republicans: It's a War in There

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

The sooner Obama realzoes there is a war w/the GOP and reacts accordingly, the sooner the mess will be over one way or the other

THank you so much for changing your approach to comments. I am so tired of reading immature comments full of filthy language written only to shock and degrade with no intention of adding value to the conversation. I hope you will start a trend for other sites to follow.

I don't agree with everything he does. But is this the way for him to go? He was not respected from day one. So he may feel that he must give in to some of the policies he does not believe in order to gain respect. He had and have some good policies. With the exception of the Health Care. His heart in the right place but that is not going to pay the bills. People need jobs. I think passing the Health Care Bill was more of a "In Your Face" kind of thing to the Republicans. Never seen a president so disrespected in my life. But he shouldn't crack under the pressure and give in. And name calling is not the answer either. Would he have been taken to this point if people didn't force him there. It's about his skin color first and then his politics. Things like that is why the world is laughing at America. This day and age we still have old-world beliefs!!!

It's getting awfully hard to support someone that was voted into arguably the most powerful position in the world when he's such an idiot. Like the one right before him, and the one before him, and so on. Bush has been attacked for being dumb, and he is, but to hear Obama actually think there are 57 is scary. Sarah Palin gets criticized ruthlessly for some of her errant comments in her campaign for VP. I just wish it could balance out slightly more. I want everyone to be able to see they're dumb on both sides. Who cares how Bush spoke, or whether Palin believes she was on the front line to ward of Russia. None of that matters until we find out what kind of support we're going to get from those 7 extra states, and where are we going to fit them? This administration scares me.....

Most of Sarah's gaffes are caused by her stupidity--and her unwillingness to learn anything. When Obama said "57 states" however, everybody with half a brain knows he had meant to say "47 states" because that's how many primaries he and Clinton had fought in to that date. That gaffe wasn't because of stupidity but rather exhaustion. There is a huge difference. . BTW, I heard about the "57 states" thing on "Hardball" so to say the mainstream media has given Obama a pass is just wrong. He also made Keith Olberman's "Worst Persons" list shortly after taking office.

You sure have a thing against republicans. If I may ask do you believe in socialism or a free market society?

Yup, even the republicans can see Obama has sold out. Hopefully Pelosi and the rest of the Dems won't let that happen. Don't think I'll vote in 2012.
