2. Reforming the Health Insurance System. No single piece of legislation was more controversial in 2010 than the Democratically sponsored overhaul of the health insurance industry. 2. Reforming the Health Insurance System. No single piece of legislation was more controversial in 2010 than the Democratically sponsored overhaul of the health insurance industry................And this is what will blow them out of the water, in 2012. That monstrous, incomprehensible, 2500 page bill that was forced on the people with no regard for what the people wanted, and has caused chaos and confusion, and is killing jobs because of the cost, will not be forgotten by the voters.
March 01 2011 at 10:36 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThey added tens of thousands to my share of the public debt. They extended new entitlements for health care without a credible plan for funding. They increased taxes. They bailed out the crooks and billed the innocent. They took half a trillion out of Medicare to fund a new program, then brazenly claimed they had saved Medicare. They pulled every trick in the book to squeak Obamacare through even in the face of reasonable and widespread opposition. They failed in attempts to force the cost of fuel and food even higher, yet failed to produce the timely appropriations bill that is their primary constitutional duty. I don't know about you, Ms. Murphy, but this Irishman is not particularly inclined to gratitude for that class of service. As my neighbor says, "service like Bossy got down on the farm".

Be careful however what you wish for.... We can cut welfare, but then we should expect the crime rate to sky rocket since ppl will be forced to take drastic measures to feed their families, we can cut education, but we are already not competing with the industrialized world and that wont bring jobs, we can cut Health Care, but I still dont believe this bill will hurt - am sure it will help.
SO WHAT DO WE CUT. SOCIAL SECURITY? MEDICARE?
So we should do nothing out of fear that people will take to the streets in able to feed their family? Please, you obviously do not understand that most Americans today can and will be resourseful and innovative when it comes to taking care of their families. Cutting welfare programs by 10% for the next 5 years is a good start. I think every intellegent person knows that you can't just wipe them all out at once. This will be a gradual plan over the next few years and most people, whether on welfare, social security or medicare can withstand a 10% cut in their benefits. If they can't, then they are being lazy and greedy. Family's may have to help each other for awhie, so be it.

Election have consequences......even if you don't vote for the winner. Maybe first time voters will remember this when standing in the unemployment line.
That trillion we wasted on a trumped up war in Iraq sure would come in handy about now....

January 02 2011 at 2:24 PM Report abuse Permalink +2 rate up rate down ReplyYour grandchildren's investments in Haliburton should help them pay for it.
March 01 2011 at 8:00 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyThe lawyers in congress are NOT accountants, money managers etc. Their bills have sent this country to the brink of bankruptcy. Their inability to work together has divided this country. Together with a corrupt media they have divided the American people and ruined the employment in this country by lowering tariffs sending jobs abroad and returning cheap goods to unemployed Americans. Drain the swamp. In two years get rid of all those who corrupted the congress.

January 02 2011 at 9:16 AM Report abuse Permalink -1 rate up rate down ReplyClinton handed over the governmnent with the same 4.5 trillion deficit that Bush senior gave him, too bad Obama was handed 10.5 trillion! Seems the repubs can complain better than they can perform! After the stock market crash, remember how everyone thought the great recession of 2008 was going to become another great depression? Obama has done a superb job considering what he was handed in 2009!
January 01 2011 at 10:04 PM Report abuse Permalink -2 rate up rate down ReplyPretty much for the worse: huge spending, no jobs, more and more intrusive regulations and Federal meddling affecting the people without effectively protecting us from politically-connected crooked organizations from unions to corporations, no relief on plummeting property values and collapsing local tax bases, no end to deepening debt. So much for hope and change under congress and the White House dominated by Democrats.
Why do the long-suffering taxpayers need to hire a Federal Twinkie Police force to raid fourth-graders' lunch boxes? Is there no expectation of personal or parental responsibility in a sane universe?
I pray all politicians will ignore the views of Mitch McConnell. The country can't afford at this time of crisis a political leader who has promised to deny Obama success over the next two years. Mitch would put political gain ahead of national security. This despicable position borders on sedition considering the condition the country is in. Ed Talbot

True republican colors showing right through the hypocrisy.
