Click here to visit the new home of Politics Daily! The only one I'm sad about is Elizabeth Edwards, a woman with grace and class, an unfortunate victim of the typical sleazy, self-centered, gameshow host politician, Jogn Edwards.

These men did very well on the tax payers dime and should be highly respected.

January 01 2011 at 4:11 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyElizabeth, we all benefited from your grace here on Earth.
January 01 2011 at 1:57 PM Report abuse Permalink -4 rate up rate down Replyonebluebrick, how did we all benefit from her grace [?] here on Earth?!
January 01 2011 at 2:10 PM Report abuse Permalink +4 rate up rate down ReplyShe used a lot of the grace word in her book. But, do your homework, she was a martry and stood by a cheating lying husband so they could all live in the Whitehouse - it backfired on her big time and probably did not help her health.
January 01 2011 at 3:29 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyFrankly, I am sure Elizabeth Edwards was a wonderful person, but really without the scandal, she would be a mere mention, and mostly local. We all lose family and friends, its hard.
January 01 2011 at 1:29 PM Report abuse Permalink +14 rate up rate down ReplyNot to sound mean, and I'm not a mean person, I lost my father this year and I feel for all of the families.
That being said, we may, as a country be better off without the politics and policies of some of those who have passed!
I often wonder why so many of you feel it is necessary to denegrate others in public. It seems especially purile to say nasty things about the dead. It appears that those who dislike the government believe that any behavior is acceptable. Maybe you should think through your reasons for your diatribes. It certainly doesn't change anyone else's mind, and in this case could hurt family or friends of the people who died.
January 01 2011 at 12:41 PM Report abuse Permalink -1 rate up rate down ReplyPretty sad group. I can't say that any one of them impressed me except those who fought for civil rights, womens rights. The usual corrupt politicians who served way to long and took advantage of their positions to further their own self serving needs, ie.; Murtha, Byrd, etc.
January 01 2011 at 10:24 AM Report abuse Permalink +11 rate up rate down ReplyCharlie Wilson who took over $500 million dollars to fund the Taliban with weapons against the Russians in the 80s, have taken those weapons and now use them against Americans. Proof positive that congress doesn't know what its own members are doing with our money.
January 01 2011 at 9:29 AM Report abuse Permalink +26 rate up rate down ReplyWell, Cutie, Rep. Wilson and the CIA were merely acting upon the direction of the administration. We were at the height of the cold war with Russia at that time, and the communist leadership there was, as they said, "out to destroy the U.S." We were indirectly fighting the soviets through the Afghan rebels at that time. Little did we know that many of the rebels would go on to become the militant, anti-American Talaban.
January 01 2011 at 12:14 PM Report abuse Permalink +4 rate up rate down ReplyActually, the weapons went to Afgan freemdoms fighters and the Northern Alliance. The Taliban later defeated these groups after US aid was stopped when the Soviets left. The Democratic controlled Congress, during the Reagan Presidency, did not see fit to send any real redevelopment aid to the country. The significant weapon sent by the US was the Stinger antiaircraft missle which, to my knowledge, has not been used by the Taliban during the current conflict.
January 01 2011 at 3:19 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMurtha was crooked even by politicil standards.
January 01 2011 at 8:28 AM Report abuse Permalink +33 rate up rate down ReplyMurtha kept that steeltown afloat after the steel mills closed down! That's what they do represent their areas. Not to mention he was a Marine!
