Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

Federal jobs draw funds out of private industry and thus have a particular responsibility to deliver measurable beneficial results. Obama has added 200,000 plus Federal jobs. Do you feel helped yet?

Oldengineera2, well, we meet again, and darned if you weren't as wrong then as you are now. Get your figures correct before spouting off. The Speaker of the House used bogus figures, but don't take my word for it. Check them out with FactCheck. If you don't believe FactCheck, then contact the Office of Management and Budget...

Yes, I feel much safer knowing that the Department of Homeland Security has added "Billions" of Debt and combined 7 additional agencies; increased their work force by the thousands; and cannot even set a standard of what I can take in my carry on luggage; nor how I'm examined when I declare that I have had a Hip Replacement; yes, I feel much safer knowing that my borders are not secure and that every time I drive by the Border Patrol office I see two Jet Bell Ranger Helicopters setting on the pad; 6-10 brand new SUV's and everybody playing grabass... Yes, it does my heart good knowing the waste of money that the department manages to throw away; and with Jeanet Napalitono, who doesn't know beans about Security nor the implementation of Intellegice gathering heading the department... Yes, I'm just another 'Thrilled' American watching my tax dollars go down the tubes...
