Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

thank you so much for your observations and wit. the humour underlines the futility of the situations you address, and give them a real edge. it's some bitter laughs you conjour. but thanks anyway. i like the "art" side of it too.

The Robert's Court is the most politically active in the past fifty years. This court is nothing short of inept to the ninth degree, they hardly even trouble to appear legitimate. We have the same trouble in the Congress adn the White House. Perhaps we need to take our cue from the people in the Middle East and sort through things... "Clean house adn start afresh. Career politician are the real problem, they come to think of themselves as invulnerable and infallible. Such arrogance is without humility and for punlic office you do need a bit of humility.Toss them all out and be done with it I say...

Way back when it was decided that Supreme Court Justices would be lifetime appointments it was thought that they would be above the political fray and conduct themselve accordingly. However, they learned too late that the appointment process was very political and there would be SC Justices that could not separate their politics from their job.

Wasn't it Thomas Jefferson(another liberal from the Commonwealth of Virginia) that said the supreme court would be the downfall of the United States government? I am a liberal from the Commonwealth of Virginia. May God have mercy on all us poor sinners and grant our nation and ourselves wisdom, prosperity and courage in these latter times

Enouh ia enough. When does the Chief Justice speak on this issue of conflict of interest on the
Enough is enough for the Thomas's . Its time the Chief Justice speak up on this matter. A lifetime job on the court doesn't allow for his kind of activities. There must be some guidelines for responding to the actions or Mr. & Mrs Thomas.

Scalia and Alito do the same thing as Thomas. Lots of arrogance on that court.

Let's not forget Thomas' tax evasion for not declaring his current wife's earings for the past thirteen years.

It is time for America to face the fact that what was once our most respected panel of Judges, the Supreme Court, has become tainted and corrupt. It was quite obvious when they passed the law that made anonymous corporate donations legal - turning all previous laws on that subject upside down! This is just more proof of the same. It is my belief that recusing themselves is not enough, but a few of them should be unseated or whatever is done to judges who do illegal things.

it is insane to have them with life time appointments , they think no one can touch them , unless your big bussiness so his wife can make more money , and when he was asked why he stoped checking that little box about his wifes income , he comes back with ITS TO COMPLICATED and this man is making complicated decesions about our country VERY SCARY
