Obama to Gadhafi: Be Nice!

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.

You have a point, but look at it from the policy situation as it looms over the fences we are trying to mend.

Actually Obama has had to spend most of his foreign policy time mending the fences bulldozed by the Bush administration. You remember them the guys who welcomed Libya back into the ranks of civa;ized nations with great fanfare and lots of money.

Give Obama a break he has no experience in forgiegn policies. His apology tour has taken all respect for america away. Other countries do not fear or respect america. Other leaders have called for Gahdafi to step down, a week later Obama does. If you cannot lead you have to follow.

Lets start with Bush/Cheney ! Cheney called Saddam Hussien "the George Washington of his country" and he called Ghadaffi a "person who improved himself by seeing the light"

Make a list of all the nations and the type of government they have. I can't think of a single democracy we do not support. The others are mostly dictatorships, monarchies or theocracies. What is your criteria for supporting one of the remaining non-democratic countries? Should we forget about all of them no matter if they offer advantages to our country for their support?
