Matthew V. Storin, editor of The Boston Globe from 1993 to 2001, teaches in the Gallivan Program for Journalism, Ethics and Democracy at the University of Notre Dame.  He had been White House correspondent, Asian bureau chief, and held several other editing positions at the Globe over two stints covering 25 years.  He also was editor of Maine Times, editor and senior vice president of the Chicago Sun-Times and executive editor of the Daily News in New York.

Storin began his journalism career for the Springfield (MA) Daily News and served four years covering Congress for the Griffin-Larrabee News Bureau, a regional news service.   He is a graduate of Notre Dame and also received an honorary degree there in 2006.  When the school year ends, he retreats to Camden, Maine with his wife, Keiko.  They have four children and six grandchildren.
