Amy Green has worked as a regular contributor to PEOPLE, Newsweek, The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor and many other publications. She specializes in faith, the environment and social issues, and her work also has appeared in Sojourners, Spirituality and Health and Christianity Today. Her stories on the Florida Everglades and other environmental issues have appeared in Newsweek and the Monitor.
 
Green is a former Associated Press reporter and worked in the Nashville, Tenn., bureau. In 2006 she worked for a month in Boston as a temporary editor on the national desk of the Monitor, assisting with coverage of the midterm elections. She is an active member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, and she is chairwoman of the freelance committee for the Society of Professional Journalists. In 2008 she traveled to Taiwan with an SPJ delegation to foster a professional exchange with journalists there. She is an occasional speaker on journalism and writing. She is a Florida native and graduate of the University of Florida. She lives in Orlando with her husband Wade and yellow Lab, Griffin.
