Kaitlynn Riely is about to graduate from the University of Notre Dame with a major in American Studies and a minor in journalism. She spent four years writing for The Observer, Notre Dame's student newspaper, covering everything from the Irish fighting about on campus performances of The Vagina Monologues to the invitation to President Barack Obama to speak at Commencement. Kaitlynn, who hails from the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C., spent two summers working in the District as a journalist, where she shook Rahm Emanuel's hand before she knew who he was. After graduation, Kaitlynn will head to Pittsburgh to cover the news there, but hopes to eventually wind up covering politics in D.C. She enjoys YouTube videos and snarky writing.
