Luisita Lopez Torregrosa, a correspondent for Politics Daily, is a columnist for the International Herald Tribune and NYTimes.com global editions and a contributor to the Los Angeles Times Op-Ed page. She is an adjunct professor at Fordham University's Latin American and Latino Studies Institute and at Columbia University and a guest lecturer at Syracuse University. She has written for Vanity Fair, where she was a contributing editor, Condé Nast Traveler and The New York Times. She was an assistant national editor at The New York Times and an assistant foreign editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer. She's the author of "The Noise of Infinite Longing," a memoir (HarperCollins, 2004). She has lived in Manila and Tokyo and has reported from the Philippines and Japan, Rio de Janeiro, Seoul, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Madrid, and Havana. She lives in New York City.
