Samantha Michaels is a junior at Northwestern University with a double major in journalism and international studies. A Chicago native, she has long dreamed of becoming a foreign correspondent or a travel writer. She caught the travel bug during her very first adventure abroad, a week-long volunteer trip to Guatemala last spring. Since then she has studied European politics in Paris; worked as a health reporter in Washington, D.C; and visited student journalists in Doha, Qatar.
