That's because the search engine giant has chosen to honor literary pioneer and "father of science fiction" Jules Verne with one of its customary Google doodles. Verne, who would have celebrated his 183rd birthday today, is best known for writing classic adventure novels, including "Around the World in 80 Days," "Voyage to the Center of the Earth" and, as the doodle illustrates, "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea."
