Republican Susana Martinez won the New Mexico governor's race on Tuesday night, becoming the state's first female governor and the first female Hispanic governor in U.S. history. ABC News projected Vitter the winner less than an hour af ter polls closed Tuesday night, with 1,513 out of 3,877 precincts reporting.
