Chris Carter, Ohio State Recruit, Won't Be Charged After Arrest

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Authorities say Ohio State football recruit Chris Carter won't face criminal charges stemming from his arrest last week on an allegation that he fondled a girl while pretending to measure her for an ROTC uniform. Carter is a senior offensive lineman at John F. Kennedy High School in Cleveland. The 15-year-old girl told police Carter took her to a room behind the school's auditorium and tried to pull up her bra. He was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of sexual imposition and spent a night in jail. Cleveland city spokeswoman Maureen Harper said in a statement Monday that a full ...

Fresno State Gets Defensive in Upset of Big East Power Cincinnati

Fresno State Gets Defensive in Upset of Big East Power Cincinnati

FRESNO, CALIF. -- It was in the hours before Fresno State's 28-14 comeback victory against Cincinnati on Saturday night, Bulldogs senior Chris Carter gathered his defense and gave them a pep talk probably heard in college locker rooms across the country. "We said as a defense that we had to go out there with swagger," he said later. "All the top teams in the country -- which we consider ourselves -- have a certain swagger about them. That's what we wanted to have." This particular pregame proclamation stood out because it would have seemed laughable to an outsider. Fresno State among the ...

Late-Round Bang for Your Buck

Late-Round Bang for Your Buck

There are owners out there that check out on their draft before it's completed, either letting auto-draft finish up in the last few rounds or just randomly shouting out names that they plan on soon cutting in live, non-Internet drafts. If I just described you ... well then, shame on you. You should go into your draft fully prepared for these last rounds by having deep positional rankings (like these) ready to dominate the competition. Drafters who have done their homework are inevitably the guys that end up with the Mark Reynoldses and Tommy Hansons of the fantasy universe on draft day. At the ...

Cris Carter on T.O.: Jerry Jones' Best Move Would Be to Put a 'Bullet in Him'

There are lots of things that shouldn't be said publicly about someone else. One basic genre of those things involves death or murder. And Cris Carter's recent statement -- on ESPN airwaves -- regarding Terrell Owens probably qualifies. See, Carter says that if he were in charge of the Cowboys, his first act would involve getting rid of the wideout with a "bullet." Carter says, "If it was me, I'd get rid of T.O. -- T.O. got to go from the beginning. Right from the giddy up. I take one bullet and put it right in him. Bam!" Listen for yourself. It's all over the news, obviously, and that's ...

Brett Favre Joins the 'Great Players Who End Career In Weird Jerseys' Team*

*-well, of somewhat recent history. We all know that Brett Favre will play his first game as a New York Jet this week and the shock of seeing him in a non-Packers jersey will be a bit frightening (as was seeing Jason Taylor in Redskins garb). Still, it isn't like we haven't seen this before from our recently great players.QB-Brett Favre (Jets)RB-Emmitt Smith (Cardinals)RB-Thurman Thomas (Dolphins)WR-Jerry Rice (Seahawks)WR-Chris Carter (Dolphins)WR-Tim Brown (Buccaneers)OT-Tony Boselli (Texans ... even though he didn't play)OT-Richmond Webb (Bengals)OG-Randal McDaniel (Buccaneers)OG-Bill Fralic ...

Obama Now Leads in Superdelegates: Updated

Via ABC News, the inevitable has happened:For the first time this campaign season, Barack Obama has surpassed Hillary Clinton's support among superdelegates, according to the ABC News delegate estimate. The tipping point occurred this morning, when New Jersey's Rep. Donald Payne defected from Clinton to Obama, and Oregon's Rep. Peter DeFazio, previously uncommitted, saw fit to join up with the Obama wagon trail. By ABC's count, that gives Obama 267 supers, while Clinton has 256. Later this morning, Clinton edged back with the endorsement of Pennsylvania Rep. Chris Carter, so it looks as though ...

D'Backs Ship Carlos Quentin to White Sox

By  Matt Watson - AOL News
D'Backs Ship Carlos Quentin to White Sox

Once upon a time, Carlos Quentin was considered an elite prospect with the D'Backs. Things just never panned out for him in the big leagues, though, and after an injury-riddled 2007 it was clear that he was no longer in Arizona's long-term plans, not with Eric Byrnes, Chris Young and Justin Upton occupying the outfield for the foreseeable future. Not surprisingly, the D'Backs traded Quentin to the White Sox today in exchange for Chris Carter, a 20-year-old first baseman who spent all of last year playing Class A ball. Carter's an intriguing prospect, showing both patience and power at the ...
