GOP's Foley, Democrat Lamont Lead Primary Races for Connecticut Governor

Republican Tom Foley, a businessman and former ambassador to Ireland, and Democrat Ned Lamont, best known for wresting the Democratic senatorial nomination from Joseph Lieberman in 2006, remain the frontrunners for their parties' nominations for governor of Connecticut, but large numbers of voters are still undecided, according to a Quinnipiac University poll conducted March 9-15. Lamont leads Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy, 28 percent to 18 percent, with three other candidates dividing 7 percent and 44 percent undecided.
