It will be published by William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins. William Morrow, says its website, has an "80-year legacy of bringing the highest quality fiction and nonfiction to the broadest possible audience." Whether Palin's new book will live up to the publisher's promise of ...

No Christine O'Donnell, No Politicians on Next 'Dancing With the Stars'

Former Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell has turned down an invitation to be on "Dancing With the Stars" after teasing fans with the prospect last week. "I'm honored to have been invited to participate in one of the few uplifting TV shows out there," O'Donnell said in a statement on her website. "The physical challenge made it all the more appealing. Meeting challenges head-on makes us stronger. Yet, for now, I have another challenge before me; to complete a book that tells the story of the 2010 election cycle with the dignity and respect it deserves." The move comes as a bit of ...

Will 'Dancing With the Stars' Land Christine O'Donnell?

Whether it's Christine O'Donnell, Todd Palin, Eliot Spitzer or Tipper Gore, "Dancing With the Stars" needs a politician when the season 12 lineup is announced Monday night. Why do they need a politician? Well, look at the popularity boost the show got last fall when a politician's daughter -- Bristol Palin -- made it to the finals of the show. Many quibbled with the selection -- what made Bristol a star? Her claim to fame was as an unmarried, teenage parent whose mother, Sarah Palin, is the former governor of Alaska and the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee. She wasn't the greatest dancer, ...

Should Christine O'Donnell Cut a Rug on 'Dancing With the Stars'? [POLL]

From the tea party to reality TV? Politician Christine O'Donnell is considering an offer to appear on the upcoming season of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." With a tough decision to make, O'Donnell did the practical thing: She turned to her Facebook page to get advice from her fans. "Although I am utterly flattered, my initial thought was to decline, as 2 year old nephew has more rhythm than me, and my two left feet!!" she posted. Rhythm problems aside, O'Donnell is working on a book, which she says takes priority over the paso doble. O'Donnell asked her Facebook fans whether they think she ...

The show, which famously featured Bristol Palin last year, will announce its new lineup next week, according to the New York Daily News. On her Facebook page, O'Donnell mulled the DWTS offer she said she'd received, but expressed doubts about her ability as a hoofer. "I just ...

Protecting the Palin Brand: Sarah and Bristol Go for Trademark Status

Sarah Palin has become an industry. The former Alaskan governor has had books deals, starred in a reality television show and set up a political PAC that raised $3.5 million last year. Through midterm election endorsements, broadcast on her 2.7 million-fan Facebook page or via her 400,000 follower Twitter feed, Palin has cemented alliances to new GOP governors such as South Carolina's Nikki Haley and various members of Congress. But Palin is more than just a former mayor, governor, vice presidential candidate and political force. She has catapulted over most politicians to a status of ...
