Russ Feingold in Wisconsin was if former Gov. Tommy Thompson got in the race. Thompson didn't do it, but a new poll finds that businessman Ron Johnson, who was endorsed by Wisconsin Republicans last week, is running neck-and-neck with Feingold. Feingold leads Johnson by a bare 46 to 44 percent with 3 percent preferring another candidate and 6 percent undecided, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted May 25. Tommy Thompson should Thompson choose to jump into Wisconsin's senate race, according to a Daily Kos/Research 2000 poll conducted March 22-24. Eight percent are undecided and the margin of error is 4 points. Russ Feingold with a slim 47 percent to 44 percent lead over Thompson with 9 percent undecided, according to a Public Policy Polling survey conducted March 20-21. The margin of error is 3.7 points.
