Three-term Democratic Sen. Patty Murray has firmed up her support against three announced Republican candidates seeking her job, but she still finds herself in a neck-and-neck contest if businessman and unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi gets into the race, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted May 4. Democrats' Murray Posts Weak Numbers in Washington Senate Race

Three-term Democratic Sen. Patty Murray is looking vulnerable in her bid for re-election, with former gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi leading her by 10 points and three lesser-known candidates all within margin-of-error range of her, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted April 19-22. Rossi, a businessman and former state senator who lost the closest governor's race in U.S. history in 2004, leads Murray 52 percent to 42 percent with 7 percent undecided. Democrat's Murray Would Face Close Race if GOP's Dino Rossi Runs

The big question hanging over the Senate race in Washington state, where Democrat Patty Murray is seeking a fourth term, is whether Republican Dino Rossi, who lost the closest governor's race in U.S. history decides to jump in. A Rasmussen Reports poll conducted March 9 shows Murray ahead of three Republican candidates but trailing Rossi, who has said he is considering the race, by 3 points (the margin of error is 4.5 points).
