With all the discussion in recent days of martial rhetoric, perhaps it was just a matter of time before someone -- in this case, me -- observed our cavalier use of the term "revolution." To be sure, the word can mean different things. It could refer to a "revolution in shaving" or a new way of thinking about, say, computers. But it's more likely that the first thing most people envision when they hear the word is a bloody coup rather than the next iPad or a razor with six blades.
