Click here to visit the new home of Politics Daily! As Barack Obama visits Michigan, and gets the endorsement of John Edwards, a local GOP county Party (Kent) in Grand Rapids, MI released a video ad framing Obama. The slow moving 2-minute spot is titled "Obama Show Us Your Flag." ...
The title of this piece refers to a line that one often reads in the comment section of blogs like this one. It posits that either Hillary Clinton or John McCain would make a fine president, while Barack Obama, for one reason or another, should never be entrusted, under any circumstances, with the highest office of the land. To use Senator Clinton's word, adherents of this philosophy believe that Obama resides on the wrong side of the commander-in-chief "threshold." From a strict policy perspective, this formulation is, of course, absurd. As Clinton, McCain, and Obama will all tell you, the ...
Obama is annoyed, Jake Tapper via Jules Crittenden: "There are two places where this rumor started," Obama said. "All right? Number one, we were at an event in Iowa and the 'Star Spangled Banner' was being sung by a woman and the camera caught me, not, I didn't have my hand over my heart while I was listening and singing along with her, not out of disrespect, just because I was listening to her song and thought, 'Boy, I was getting into the song.' Awesome catch via Moe Lane at Redstate. My guess is that finally, his campaign handlers got through to him. He won't drop the middle name, or hold his hand over his heart, but I guess they finally convinced him he could, maybe, possibly, wear a tiny flag on his suit. Given that he is running for president of the country the flag represents, and all the other candidates are way ahead of him. I think they've got him ...
