Haitian-American singer and Fugees alumnus Wyclef Jean may not be in the running to become Haiti's next president, but that's not keeping him from talking about the upcoming election. Wyclef Jean Hospitalized for 'Exhaustion': What Does That Really Mean?

(Sept. 27) -- Hip-hop megastar Wyclef Jean -- more recently renowned for his failed bid for the Haitian presidency than for his Grammy Award-winning music -- has been hospitalized to address overwhelming stress and fatigue. Jean, who was admitted to an undisclosed hospital this weekend, will "take it easy" and plans to be back to work within days, his representative today told The Associated Press. Wyclef Jean for President? Not Just a Song Lyric Anymore

If I was president, I'd get elected on Friday / Assassinated on Saturday / Buried on Sunday / Go back to Work on Monday. Instead of spending billions on the war, I can use that money so I can feed the poor. Wyclef Jean's 2008 hit may soon morph from "rebel music" into a campaign song. Telling CNN this week that he "can't sing forever," the former Fugee acknowledged he had filled out the paperwork for a presidential bid in his native Haiti -- but hasn't decided yet if he'll actually get out on the campaign trail. Jean, 37, who has lived in the United States since childhood but traveled ...

Music Video Director Accused of Raping Daughters

(March 12) -- A New Jersey man accused of raping and impregnating his daughters to produce "pure-blooded" offspring directed the music video of the 1996 Fugees hit "Killing Me Softly." Aswad Ayinde, 51, will appear in five trials in New Jersey in the coming months, one for each daughter he is accused of raping beginning in the 1980s, the New York Daily News reports. New Jersey prosecutors say Ayinde, who also goes by the name Eric McGill, fathered six children with his daughters and delivered the babies, two of whom died, himself, according to The Times of London.
